Frontier Operations

Frontier is active in exploration in the Middle East and Africa.

Frontier’s present exploration operations in the Middle East are onshore Oman and in Africa are onshore Namibia and Zambia. Total acreage under license is approximately 42,000 sq. kms.

In Oman, Block 38 is located in the Dhofar region in the southwest and is in the southern part of the Rub Al Khali Basin. Block 38 has had only three wells drilled and is considered prospective for oil and gas given production in other Omani salt basins.

In Africa, Block 34 in the Kafue Basin in western Zambia and Blocks 1717 and 1817 in the Owambo Basin in northern Namibia are both underexplored for hydrocarbons with no seismic data available in Zambia and limited vintage 2D seismic available in Namibia. There is good quality information available from a recent aerogravity survey over the Namibia blocks and Frontier has started to gather this and all other available data for re-interpretation. The Company has been actively reviewing available information in Zambia and expects to acquire new aeromagnetic data in 2013.
